The Photographer

Hello and welcome, I’m Erin, studio owner and photographer.

Hi. I am Erin Paula van Beveren, my pronouns are she/her.

I graduated in professional photography at the New York Institute of Photography, and I am certified in passport photography at the Stichting Nederlandse Fotovakhandel. (Dutch Foundation of Photography Professionals)

After many years of doing general photography as a hobby, I started to focus more on photographing people and at one time, after photographing my daughter’s portfolio, I decided to start my business. May 2008 was the time I got my business license and Henrico Photo was born.

Having a 2000 square feet home, and my children later grown up and moved on their own, there is ample space to create a home studio, thereby eliminating the cost of renting studio space.

I am born in 1963 in the city of Dordrecht, the Netherlands. In 1988 I immigrated to the United States of America and settled in the state of Virginia. My spoken languages are English, Dutch and German. Over the years I lived in Fairfax County, Newport News and Hampton, to finally settle down in beautiful Henrico County, near the capitol of Virginia, the great city of Richmond.

My dear wife and I got married in 1986 and together we have four lovely children and five precious grandchildren.

1963 – The present – My family

I have one truly amazing family.

Since our marriage in 1986 we have been blessed with three daughters and one son.

Later in life the family expanded with three granddaughters and two grandsons. I cannot be happier with my family.

2015 – 2020 – My transitioning

In order to live as my true self in happiness, I decided to start transitioning from male to female. So yes I am an out and proud, openly transgender woman, considering myself fully transitioned. (Social, legal and medical)
